I was diagnosed in early 2002 at the age of eighty with incorrect diagnoses that included an allergy which caused bleeding from my mouth or lung cancer and/or lung cancer that had metastasized into my esophagus. In August of 2002 I has an appointment with Dr. Ephraim Casper. Dr. Casper did not believe in the previous diagnoses and started from scratch. After examination he determined that I had two primary stage 3 cancers both of which were inoperable.
Dr. Casper was very forthright concerning the severity of my situation: however, he gave me the distinct impression that he cared about me and "gave a hoot." I never doubted for a moment that I was in intelligent and caring hands. It was knowing that he was concerned and cared about me that took the entire burden off my shoulders and set me free to enjoy what was left of my life.
I am happy to say that what was left of my life has extended 3.5 years beyond the date that I became cancer free early in 2005. The time line for the various treatments was perfect. How does one thank a man like Dr. Casper except by spreading the word that all is not necessarily lost when diagnosed with cancer.
